Finding the right Cardboard Shredder
The first cardboard shredder I ever seen was at a grocery store and it had a conveyor belt where you would toss your boxes and the cardboard would be ripped to shreds and eventually be compacted into squares which would be shipped of for recycling. These were industrial strength cardboard shredders and could literally tear a human body to pieces in a matter of seconds if you ever wanted to relish the thought as young often talking about these gory type of things.
As I started working in a office where we were paying a company to come out and shred our cardboard boxes and the reams of paper that we processed we began shopping for a shredder that would work in the office. The Intimus PacMate Cardboard shredder was the shredder that do the same thing but on a smaller scale although it did not have a conveyor belt to throw the cardboard on.
One of the things that amaze me is the amount of heat this thing will put out if you save up your cardboard and try to do it all at once. You can go through cardboard fairly quick without pausing for long periods of time. The product will get stuck periodically. However, that is if you are using for a large amount of cardboard at one time.
Maintenance of the machine
You should always unplug the machine if you are going to do maintenance as described in the user manual. The quick release of blades makes it easy to clear jams if you have cardboard that get stuck. The thing will not unlock unless it is plugged. This is yet another safety feature. The only down side to the maintenance is how expensive the lubricant is to buy. If you decided not to use the recommend lubricant it would void the warranty for using unauthorized lubricant during regular maintenance. Other than the lubricant the machine works great and continues to operate at a high capacity
